Some new things that have come out of the Bright laboratory, that we’ve not had a chance to tell you about!:

Internationalization

Our WordPress client for Bright is now fully internationalized, with our first language pack in …. drumroll …. Swedish.   Hurra!

Override Default License Key Logic

If you are using the Bright WooCommerce integration, you can now override the license key logic that is applied to an order:

Get a Copy of your Elearning Data Locally

We are hard at work on a new feature called “Bright Sync”. This feature will allow you to get a local copy of your Bright data [SCORM Cloud data, plus your overrides] into your local database [WordPress, Drupal, or otherwise].

For complex integration projects this may make sense.   We have a large project built on Drupal, and the existing reporting framework is built on Drupal views, and it would just be easier for this team to access Bright data from the local database as opposed to from the Bright API.

Onboarding Robot

Our onboarding robot continues to learn new tricks.   Things it knows how to do:

  • setup a new customer in our accounting system
  • setup a new customer in google docs, create their credentials and send them an introductory email
  • provision a new customer in SCORM Cloud, and in Bright, and link them all together to billing and accounting
  • read my email!
  • set up new customers in Toggl, our time tracking system
  • generate a share Terms And Conditions, Statement of Work, and Quote documents
  • generate tasks and link them into our master Google Sheets spreadsheets
  • interact, and report out of our Gitlab projects, and setup Gitlab for new customers.

The project continues to push the limits of efficiency and automation, and we are able to pass these savings onto our customers.

Web Accessible Invoices

Aura has been running on a “feeder” accounting system that I wrote in my first company [Ckuru LLC], and it now generates “secret” URLs for invoices that can be mailed to the customer.   They can print and archive if they want, but it will be available forever through the Fin3 application.

2FA/ReCaptcha

We are continuing our rollout of two-factor authentication [2FA] and recaptcha for administrator accounts on all of our managed sites.   This is in response to the proliferation of credential-stuffing attacks.
